West Coast Partnership is a franchise owned by First Trenitalia and is a joint venture between FirstGroup and Trenitalia.

West Coast Partnership comprises two distinct parts ¿ Avanti West Coast and West Coast Partnership Development. Avanti West Coast is the operational arm of the Partnership, running train services on the West Coast Mainline from London to north England, north Wales and Scotland. West Coast Partnership Development is working closely with Department for Transport and HS2 Ltd to design, develop and operate world-class high speed services on High Speed 2.

Our work in West Coast Partnership Development is focused on developing plans for what the new high speed services will look like (Customer Experience), how they will work (railway operations) and how we will mobilisation them (how to introduce new services and trains). Over the next 5 years we will deliver a programme of more than 30 analysis and recommendation projects (HS2 Ltd are building the new railway and associated infrastructure) covering all aspects of the future business.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the West Coast Partnership Development Team in the role of Programme Manager (PMO). We're looking for somebody who has an in depth knowledge of programme and project methodologies, together with knowledge of P3M3 or other business maturity models. You will need to have considerable experience of working as a Programme Manager, Senior Project Manager or similar role.

Essentials of the role are:

-Manage, develop and maintain the programme and project delivery framework for the Programmes, maintaining the programme management manual
-Professional lead for the Programme Project Delivery Managers (PDMs). Provide advice and coaching to them to support the business owner and enable successful project delivery in accordance with the framework and using the -PMO processes and tools
-Coordinating activities and resolve issues across the programme working with the PMO and PDMs to manage dependencies
-Project management of ad hoc projects as required including new projects prior to PDM involvement
-PMO project delivery reviews reporting and quality monitoring
-The role is based in London and, post Covid, the expectation will be a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.
